Paramedics and Nurses are the Backbones of the Health Care Sector

Health care professionals nowadays work like a team where doctors are the captain, and doctors’ right and left hands are nurses and paramedics. If we see the meaning of the Greek word ‘Para”, it means ‘side by side,’ i.e., paramedics work side by side with the doctors. When we seek medication for a disease from the doctor, the first step of treatment is the diagnosis of that disease. Diagnosis of an illness may be made either by pathological tests of body fluids like blood, urine, etc., or by taking a non-invasive image of the body’s internal parts, like, X-Ray, CT Scan, MRI, etc., or in some cases in the combination of these two.
The patient is sent to a pathological lab or any diagnostic center, depending on the specific problems the patient is complaining about. In the pathological lab, medical laboratory technologists work for collecting body fluids or body tissues and do the necessary tests. In the diagnostic center, the radiographers work for taking the image of the diseased part in a non-invasive way. The treatment starts with this part. Depending on the result these paramedics will produce, the doctor will diagnose the disease, and treatment will be continued further. So, medical laboratory technologists and radiographers have an immense responsibility to diagnose the condition. That is why all lab and diagnostic centers should have authentic and skilled laboratory technologists and radiographers. Any mistake in this part may cause serious health issues.

In another example, when we go to any hospital, the technical staff guides us starting from reception up to the billing are called Hospital Management Staff. They manage all nonmedical aspects of a hospital. They may be general manager, Superintendent (nonmedical), or even CEO of a hospital. They handle every corner of a hospital to make it suitable for the patient as well as patient parties. Where to contact, what to do in the treatment process before going to the doctors, or related to the admission procedure in the hospital, they are the actual key personnel in the hospital.
In a hospital, the nursing staff takes care of all patients in every section of a hospital, including operation theatre also. They are the professionals next to doctors for taking care of a patient in a hospital. Nursing is a novel profession. These professionals can work in all medical departments of a hospital.

The operation theatre technologists is a specialized skilled healthcare professional. In an operation theatre, different types of operation take place. They prepare the operation theatre, including the instruments, drugs, etc., related to the specific operation. In the operation theatre, they take care of the vital para monitor of the patient. The pre-operative and post-operative patient care also being done by them. They also work in ICU, trauma care, and CSSD. They are the key professionals to run the operation smoothly in the operation theatre. A special branch of paramedics called Radiotherapists helps oncologists for the treatment of cancer patients. Cancer was said to be a deadly disease, but, in modern days, cancer can be treated entirely if it is detected, and the treatment process can be started in the early stages. It is managed in three different ways or a combination of them. These are chemotherapy, surgery, and radiation therapy. Radiotherapist is the actual professionals when radiation therapy is given to cancer patients. Radiotherapists provide the radiation dose to the cancer cell keeping the normal healthy tissues unharmed. They do all related works to radiation therapy like patient set up, immobilization of the patient during radiation therapy, educating the patient before radiation to be given, and also throughout the process. Physiotherapy is such a profession that is required in every step of treatment after any surgery, any injury, everywhere. This is a ubiquitous term of business in our modern life. If a patient gets damaged in any body parts, they should go for this physiotherapy treatment process. Generally, what people commonly do is, following any injury, they take a painkiller to relieve the pain, but it is a silent killer with lots of dangerous side effects. Instead, if people go for physiotherapy treatment following illness it will cure the problem without any side effects. Physiotherapy may be given to patients of all ages. Even in all games and sports, physiotherapy is a must. All players take training throughout the year, and they must seek help from physiotherapists for keeping themselves fit.

When we go to the ophthalmologist for any vision-related problems, the first optometrist checks our eyes for preliminary issues and the power of our eye lens. All kinds of vision-related measurements taken by the optometrist, then the patient is sent to the ophthalmologists and ophthalmologists, then start treatment.

To sum up, paramedics and the nurses are the backbones of the healthcare profession. From the beginning, during the entire treatment process, until the patient is cured, paramedics and nurses are required in each step.
