ANM: Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery 

 Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery is a Medical Nursing Course which deals with the field of science and covers healthcare profession focused on the care individuals, families and communities so that they may attain, maintain and recover optimal health. Nurses are engaged in dispensing medication, setting up medical equipment, keeping records of patient health care team. Nurses are engaged in dispensing medication, setting up medical equipment, keeping records of patient’s progress, administration and several other routine chores. At the initial level, nurses are required for the bedside care of patients, while at senior level they are required to manage special group of people like psychiatric, paediatric, intensive care patient etc. that requires specialized skill.

Duration: 2 Years 

Eligibility: 10+2 or equivalent in any stream

Aspect: 

  

  • The career aspect of nurses are alienated in various verticals. They can work in private and government run hospitals, nursing homes and in other healthcare related verticals or organisations.
  • They can also seek employment in the Indian Red Cross Society, Indian Nursing Council, State Nursing Councils and Various other Nursing Institutions.
  • Even Nurses who have completed the ANM Course get to work as primary health workers and midwives in primary health centres, spread throughout the country .
