BMT(OT) : Bachelor of Medical Technology (Operation Theatre)  

 An operation technician (OTT’S) is an integral part of the operation unit team functioning with surgeons, anaesthetists & operation theatre nurse to make certain that every operation is as safe and successful as possible. OTT’s offer towering standards of patient look after and expert support together with the operation unit team during pre-operative, operative and post-operative care.  

Seats: 40 

Duration: 8 Semester + 6 Month Internship  

Eligibility: 10+2 or equivalent in Science Group (PCB)

Responsibilities of an OT Technician :

  • An OT Technician also looks after all the works and management of the operation theatre that include managing the patients in & out of the operation theatre, looking after a;; the surgical instruments, their sterilisation, arrangement of operation theatre table, dressing table, instrument table, anaesthesia table as well as management of the staff In brief, an OTT has to manage & organise whole of the operation Theatre and without whom no surgeon can operate on a patient and neither can a hospital or a nursing home run or be complete.
  • Aspirants can choose a career as OT technical assistant; they can also pursue specialisation in different streams like Cardiac OT, Neuro Surgeon OT and Laparoscopy OT.
  • as an OT Assistant in any General Hospital or any Multi Speciality Hospital.
