Duration: 4 Years (8 Semesters)
Eligibility: 10+2 or equivalent with 35% cut off marks in Sc. Gr. (Phy/Chem/Bio) (5% relaxation for SC/ST) Course fee Rs. 56,000 per year.
Visual problems are becoming more common than ever. But the thing which makes the scenario different is that the people are nowadays more concerned about their eye related problems. It is a promising medical sector which is going to provide immense job opportunities in near future. Optometry and Vision Science is the professional practice consisting of examination of the eyes to evaluate health and visual abilities, primary diagnosis of eye diseases and condition of the eye and visual system. Provisions of necessary treatment by the use of eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other functional, optical, surgical, and pharmaceutical means are also part of this job.
After completing this course students can pursue higher education in this discipline. Optometrists can start their career as private practitioners, work in eye hospitals and clinics; can be employed in govt vacancies as optometrist in Vision 20/20 projects etc.
